I invented a new chess opening - can I name it after myself?

He let his bishop en prise.Good you did not see it

We weren't playing French Chess we were playing the Queen's English conventional rules.  No en prise, en passant or j'adoube nonsense.  It was Minehead not Marseilles.

I have a LOT more to say. coming up with this kind of garbage, and then inventing the lie you drew a top GM with it, is doing both the new players here and chess. com in general a GIGANTIC disfavor.

There are enough beginers playing complete crap in the opening ( trying a 4 move mate against a sicilian, or that lousy scandi continuatin posted on here earlier, etc.) already, and now, with this post, we are going to have to put up with more of it.

Beginners are going to see this, not know what's wrong with this picture, and learn about the worst possible habits they could ever pick up in chess.

Yes, in my opinion, this post needs to be removed IMMEDIATELY, and the loser who posted it should be banned from the site.

If any beginner actually tries this, then he'll be destroyed, utterly. And in only one game. Maybe he'll screw up one tournament. But that's it.

There's no harm posting a little joke. You're overreacting.

Anyway, I should learn that opening. I wasn't completely sure what I would have done as Nigel. Man - can anyone recommend a book?

Yes, in my opinion, you should take a seat, get a drink and relax

Oui.  Tres bien.  Gabisubis.  Avez vous un sens de l'humour?

SALICRUP

OK

Its a fun opening but you didnt invent it. I used to use it in 4th grade in our school tourneys and is easily beatable. It was more "art" and "building castle" tom foolery than anything else....

Others used it as well...

That's real cool :) I had just remember the hilarious kinda opening. You may see it here http://blog.chess.com/laaqer/the-best-opening-for-black---lenin-opening-lenin-opening-no-gm-may-deal-it   :)

Wow!  You blew my mind.  I love this tactic and can't wait to baffle and bewilder my opponents.  I might need to switch it up and use the kingside knight to fool people as bright as godlessaint

jhuschstp

Too much silliness

Mimchi

Haha yeah wow dude. Chill. Chhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil.

Sutibu

Interesting line. I usually go for the other knight, so that way I can play easily using my dominant hand. There's also a variation where I pop the two nights in an out alternating.

niddrieboy

crap

-Thinker-

For some reason, both the openings look childish.

littleman

How about calling it " Dumb Ass opening?" LOL

bcguy390

I am very confused, how can you call it an opening? you obviously have no idea what you are doing as you barely develop one piece... and then not realize that there is a hanging bishop thats free .... This is something I would have expected from a three year old with no sense on how to play chess, not from a 41 year old man

shakmatnykov

In view of the game continuation, a very apt name for this opening would seem to be ....." Nimzovich Defense - Short's Gambit Declined " .

Golbat

Short hung his bishop. You should have taken it, and played for the win.
