Slow down. No one improved by moving and playing fast. Follow opening principles. Before each move ask yourself: "Are my pieces safe?". After your opponent moves ask yourself: "What is my opponent trying to do?"
I need improvements
noted, it just sucks knowing Martin is better than me lol, guess it really got on my nerves. and I guess I only think one move at a time which makes me lose at a guess
To start out learn basic opening principles, as mentioned earlier in this thread and also learn basic tactics. Learn basic checkmate patterns too, this will help you to stop stalemating in winning positions. Use the CCA method (checks, captures, attacks). This basically means before each move take a look at where you can give check, capture another piece or attack an opponent's piece and also look at where your opponent can do these things. After noticing these things use your intuition and calculation to determine whether or not you should do these things.
I am hands down the worst player at chess (well, it feels like it anyway). and im wondering how the hell im meant to get better. I know practice is a key part of it and every time I do I flipping stalemate to Martin..... yeah, Martin, the 250 elo bot. it genuinely hurts to suck this bad
i used to be worse than that but u can't get better unless you think YOU CAN get better. positive thinking matters in this case. And if u want a player to play and to help u improve i would love to help you.
U GOT THIS.
