yeah but who do you think would be the highest, and at what time setting?

Kasparov is alive and kicking and he's as good as they get!

Morphy, after defeating everyone in his neighborhood would run out of people to challenge, so he would create a Chess.com account. No one understands how he keeps winning against the top players there.  He would regularly get private messages from Kasparov that said "You're from the 1850s noob, why don't you ever lose?".  He would delete his account after defeating everyone on the site with no effort.

Steinitz would play a bit, but mostly be on the forums arguing that his theory is superior to everyone elses, he would get multiple warnings for flaming.

Capablanca wouldn't play much, but when you message him on Skype asking to play, he'd log in and kick your ass.  His account would eventually be deleted due to inactivity.  He wouldn't care though, infact, this concert he's at right now is far more interesting.

Alekhine would be the noob who asked too many questions and hung around the site all day, only to one day become one of the best players on the site.  His forward button, back button and home button on his browser all lead to Chess.com.  His cat would be named "Chess.com"

Botvinnik would play a bit, but as soon as he discovered the "Analysis Board" function his soul would fuse directly to it and he would be forever in his own little world looking at endless openings and variations.  He could also be found lurking in the "Chess Players" subforum, trying to find out what everyone else plays, just incase.

Petrosian would get accused of using engines because no one could ever beat him.  Winning is nice, but not losing is even better.  He has "Draw? :D" on copy+paste.  Eventually the Draw button would be disabled by the site administrator due to abuse.

Spassky wouldn't have found the time to even create a Chess.com account, he would be too busy hanging out with Capablanca and partying.   At the parties though he could be found playing chess and making extremely deep calculated moves, like this Queen sac on h7.  It turns out it didn't amount to anything though, he was just drunk.  He won the game anyways, who needs queens.

Fischer would get accused of using engines and his account would be banned from Chess.com because he kept beating everyone 6-0.  He would storm out of his computer room in a rage and file a lawsuit.

Karpov would be sad he never got to play Fischer before his account got banned and would go on to prove to everyone that he is infact one of the greats.  Every time you logged on to Chess.com you would see Karpov playing Kasparov.

Kasparov would be flaming people on the forums and constantly challenging them by saying "5 0 knight odds scrub?" to anyone that disagreed with his posts.  He feels Karpov is the only good player other than him on the site.  He would be competing for moderator status against the user MyNameIsPutin6969.

Philidor: started a thread that pawns were the soul of chess.  chess.com members with ratings of 1200, branded him a noob and immediately started spamming with pictures of waffles.
