Huh? <1400 doesn't exist!

This is true for standard time controls. Rapid and Blitz ratings are still on the 1000 base.

So 20 percent of players have a rating below 1000 according to what I saw

Given that 1500 is 50 percent of players...1500 there is equivalent to 800 here

It is 11.3% actually.

What is 11.3% ?

The percentage of players that are rated below 1000 in LiChess.

Your 20% is wrong.

I think I was referring to Chess.com.

But then time controls have different percentiles too if memory serves.

Elites who claim that a person who has played for 20 years is a beginner can go sit on their thumbs.

No. It's rubbish. 1k to 1.5 is beginner. 1.5k to 2K is strong club player. 2 to 2.5K you are interesting. 2.5k upwards you are a monstrosity.....

[Voted down 51 times at this point. It is his opinion, however, and is not otherwise offensive.- jbf]

I'm partly downvoting because I don't agree with this, and partly just because I want to set a new record.

Hi there!

Being jealous is normal - it's just a game! If you are trying to insult me - or others, do it! But, the only thing I want you to remember is that: I don't care! I don't see it personally, nor I get mad! . Have a nice day, and please remember it .
About me:
I am Kenji Man, 12 years old, and around 1850 OTB classical (national). I won multiple youth tournaments, beat a few 2000's and drew countless of them. I've been playing chess for 2,5 years now.
Oh, and about the sloppy games, I am sorry. I was very tired and had a very long schoolday. Swings are perfectly normal ! I've got brilliant games, but also horrible ones. That's normal!.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

well, you kinda started it by saying that other person sucks.

i’m only rated 700, yet i’ve been playing for about a year. Now, either I’m trash at chess, or y’all are wrong.

Play longer games 10/15 for example are good. Play alone, on your free time, away from distractions, don't resign, play all the way, play on your computer not on your phone, learn to throw arrows, play 1 game and review it rather than play 5 games and no review, learn 1 opening for white and 1 for black and abuse it.

Yeah in Chess.com a rating of 1000 usually means that you are better than more than half of the total chess players in the world

To be more specific, this is how the chess.com rating system basically works with estimates for years of experience based on someone who spends around 4 hours a week studying chess(my opinion):

100-700: new to chess/absolute novice ~1 month experience

700-1000: beginner ~3-6 months experience

1000-1200: hobbyist ~9-15 months experience

1200-1400 weak intermediate, class “D” level player ~1-2 years experience

1400-1600 strong intermediate, class “C” level player, ~3-4 years experience

1600-1800: advanced, class “B” level player, ~5-6 years experience

1800-2000: very advanced to expert, class “A” player, ~ 7-8 years experience

2000-2100: expert level, ~10 years experience

2100-2200: Candidate Master(CM), ~ 11 years experience

2200-2400 National Masters and Fide Masters, ~12-14 years experience

2400-2500 International Master (IM), ~15 years experience

2500-2650 Grandmaster, ~ 17-20 years experience

2650-2700 Very strong GM, ~20-25 years experience

2700+ Super GM, ~25+ years experience

hope this helps

Very nice!!
I'm Class B yay!

I'm Expert or CM, cuz my online rating fluctuates around 2000-2150 for chess.com or 2100-2250 on lichess

Chess.com ratings fluctuate massively and cannot be directly compared to FIDE ratings.

For starters FIDE ratings is for 90+30 or even slower "classic" times.
