Why fuss and fight Chess is not dead, its played all over the World and for the folks that never learned the game its their lost!
Is chess dead?

Nobody likes it anymore. When I was younger in the 70's, it was on the TV all the time. What happened?
what happened is the younger generation is not intelligent enough to play a game that is complexed as chess requires carefull thought and stratigy with every move
I would not blame intellegence levels. I would go more for popular culture, the advent of the internet, bad education, moral values on the floor and general degradation of society as a whole. The kids are smart they simply aren't getting the right influences.
I was looking scholastic chess up and wanted to share some of the information with you . Look at this site

Chess is certainly dying in the UK yes.
Why would you say that? There are many, many chess clubs in England. Have you attended chess tournaments? Where is the, "UK", anyway? Is that Scotland, Ireland, England...what? I reside in the U.S.A., but I don't say I'm from, "North America".
That's because North America is a continent.
So? What is the, "U.K."? Why is there an effort to bury the identities and names of Scotland, Ireland and England?
Do you mean Northern Ireland?
And what about Wales?
