BYP is making math videos now. I'm not skilled at math, maybe someone who is can confirm my suspicion that the videos are trash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7VwfiwYkws
I didn't watch it all, but it looks like about 10th grade algebra.

BTW, as a student, Algebra is ninth grade level math...but we all take it in 6th or 7th lol..

Oh, boy. I hate to say it, but he made a serious error in that simple equation.
Yeah, I saw it. Made a number negative that wasn't supposed to be, right?
Check out my blog. I have a few entries on opening theory and some "rules of thumb". It's written by a beginner, so maybe that will help keep pointers simple.
I took a look at one of your games, if I may:
Your time spent is appreciated. And I invite anyone else who is so inclined to do the same. I really DO want to improve. I like two things you had to say - "Rook = endgame piece" and "consider 3 moves before you decide". I will take these to heart - thanks!
There is a chance that you suck at chess, but if you are an average person like 95% then you will improve like everybody.
Just "finished" a game with someone who abandoned the match when (presumably) they thought all was lost. What do they hope to gain by doing this? Chess.com mentioned they might have violated the "fair play" policy...?
Feel free to have a go at the game if you wish, too. :-)

I would gladly accept it as a resignation.
It's an incredibly common removal of the defender idea: when your knight is defending a piece, capturing it or pushing a pawn at it removes the defence of the other piece.
