Is this cheating? (Vacation time)

hi im playing this two games against a premium account

https://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=135840952

https://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=135840934

He has clearly lost, there is nothing he cand do, but instead of playing or surrender he is just not playing, and i have no trouble with that, but he has tecnically lost, he hasn't playedfor more than 3 days, but the website says he has 3 days, all over again.

I can imagine that premium players have this privilege, but i have to ask, if its used to annoy your opponent at a game you cant win, isn't that making a missuse of that privilege? and if it is'nt... shouldn't it be?

Thanks

Does anyone know if the move timeout is reset after vacation? I can't find that anywhere on the help topics.

It is annoying but it is what you get when you play Chess.com correspondence.  Try a better correspondence situation.

Your opponent is not using any privileges nor is he getting any advantage. All he is doing is wasting some of his precious vacation days.

Each time when switching on vacation, at least 24 hours of vacation time is deducted from the vacation time available. When switching vacation off again after less than 24 hours, the remaining difference to 24 hours is not added back on to the vacation time, but to the thinking time for the ongoing games in which it is one's move.

Im not sure if im following, the system never said he was on vacation.... i saw it clearly, he wated out his 3 days, and after that, he had 3 thays all over again...

Thats what bothers me

Not surprised!!! I had similar situation many times. God saves us from notorious players like these. There are some more crazed players at chess.com who are expert in pulling a 10 days game upto 6 months.

That'why I don't play online games too much.

RE: #3: the clock is reset when you come back from vacation, but I don't remember if maybe you just get a day or the whole move time.

Vacation uses 24 hours minimum. If someone comes off vacation before that 24 hours is up then the difference is added to any games where they are on the move, excluding no-vacation games, and limited by the maximum time control.

It's not considered cheating, it's considered another tactic in chess

dekarchab, I would reccomend you first learn how to play before accusing the opponent of cheating, just because you always loose hardcore ownage doesn't mean they are cheating...
