No, I just think some people have a deeper interest, more passion for the game than I could ever have, no matter how much time I had. That must be the line that separates masters from everyone else.
And another thing that you see in sports a lot, is being able to play at a high level under pressure. Not a lot of people can do that. Another thing is to be able to overcome losses in a tournament. These factors weigh in when trying to achieve a title where you must play publicly, very high level players who may remain confident, while you're in doubt.
Who was the oldest player to achieve Grandmaster title? I often wonder if I hit the lottery, could a middle age man with average play but little distraction such as working to feed oneself, with motivation and tutelage become at least a Candidate Master?
