Which of the previous World Champions is Magnus Carlsen most like, in terms of style?
(By World Champions, I mean: Steinitz, Lasker, Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, Botvinnik, Smyslov, Petrosian, Tal, Spassky, Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand)
I have heard that his game is very similar to Capablanca's.
Carlsen has the positional understanding and intuition of Capablanca and Karpov, with the fierce will to win of Lasker, Fischer, and Kasparov.
The only discernible weakness in his game is that sometimes he will take too great a risk in trying to win. His opening preparation is also suspect, but no one has yet been able to take advantage of that, so it can't honestly be considered a weakness.
Wanna see just how cool The Magnus really is??
