Magnus vs..

Iwinyoulosedontcry

In 10 games Magnus Carlsen vs Alpha 0....Would he win maybe 2? Is Alpha 0 the new God of chess?

masterfowler

Magnus would probably lose every game haha...maybe a draw somewhere at best

Watermelon-Man

no there would not be a draw

There are already videos online of Magnus losing to his own app.

That has relevance to Alpha Zero? I wonder, could he possibly win 1 even? I mean wow, think about the endless possibilities in 5 years from now, what will the computer/Alpha Zero, SF ETC. Achieve? Ratings in 3900-4500? Or more?

Deep Mind's AlphaZero played against a very weakened version of Stockfish. Earlier versions of Stockfish which many would use at home will play better moves than Stockfish did in these Games. Some moves are so bad that it looks as if Stockfish is trying to lose. The way AlphaZero played it would lose against ANY Full Version of Stockfish, Houdini, Komodo etc.

Google has invested heavily in Artificial Intelligence, and are presently engaged in full-on promotion of their AI. They would like to be the ones to choose in which direction AI will go in the future.

Some of their claims are very suspect, soundimg more like an Advertising Campaign. Putting out Chess Games like this makes one wonder -- they claim to have an Ethics Committee but getting information about it is difficult.

Here are some games to consider:

Since the app is far weaker than Alpha Zero, it's entirely relevant that he's losing to it.

Not even 1 game? You dicks, don't you see Carlson's games, lol?!

I think in like 10 games, Carlson would win 1 or 2, imo....Now machines, computers have always been better than humans, so who knows?

Deep Blue was two decades ago, the "human vs. computer" match era is over. Just have a look at the "Rybkamura" games.

It’s rating compared to him is the same as his rating compared to a player who hasn’t yet made it to a national master title. He would easily beat players at that rating in simultaneous exhibitions. The top engines, Stockfish, Komodo, alpha zero, or whatever, would also beat him just as easily.

JamesColeman

win 1 or 2 out of 10? you must be joking mate. I wouldn't even back him to win 1 in a thousand.

naww cmon, we gotta know, I suggest a 10 game set againt SF,or Alpha..........Carlson is as close to machinec we have in human mode..I would think with some proper preparatins, tactics, etc. Carlson can pull off a couple or more even...It's more of his determination, mindset when he playes, he has such an Incredible mind for memory, details, patters.. and his passion...I think anything is possible..I would like to anyway..

Magnus vs. fee day

whats fee day?

I think you don't fully comprehend the power of chess engines. They can see over 10 moves ahead in a matter of seconds and could beat any human player with their superior tactical gameplay. There are only a few instances in chess where a machine makes a dumb move because it cannot comprehend the strategy used by its opponent, but this is incredibly rare. Like for example when a human sacrifices a queen to create a wall of pawns that neither side can break, but the computer goes for the extra material not realizing it would make a draw position. However even in this rare case a human would be able to only draw, whereas a computer would win 99.9% of the time

Destroyer....I understand that, but Magnus is very similar to a computer, as he has many ,many games in his memory bank..Over a 10 game set he's bound to win a couple if even by luck...
