My nephew beat HOUDINI?!?!

I have an undefeated record against houdini. I also have never lost to (or drawn) any world champion or 2700+ player ever.

ClavierCavalier

shepi13, I read your biography.  I remember the cool stuff about you averting World War III, ending poverty, inventing a real perpetual motion machine, and being the first man on Mars.  I thought it also said that you never lost or drawn against anyone 2800+.  You might want to talk to the publisher about their mistake.

Of course, this doesn't take into account all of your defeats against the 1200's... :-p

Yereslov

I just crushed Houdini in two moves. The old patzer fell for Fool's Mate.

Okay, so you admit that you're a liar then? How are threads like this even allowed?

Hey, that's not nice. The man is a Father of the Modern Age, and a famous singer, and a great lover. What have you done lately?

Yesterday I beat Houdini, Critter, Rybka and Stockfish in a blindfold simul.

My nephew Bob beat Houdini, Critter, Rybka, Stockfish, Komodo, Naum, and Hiarcs, in a blindfold simul while playing his first round of golf ever, and scoring first 11 holes in one.

I heard Bob also scored a 300 in bowling and was finishing an opera that would put Verdi and Mozart to shame.  Didn't he also find the cure for cancer?

I see you know Bob. Cool!

BTW, I forgot to mention that he played golf blindfolded as well.

I learned an amazing thing reading this forum. A lot of you are idiots. I read so many posts that encouraged this imaginary nephew. Then I read posts where people posted their pop psychology about how this could be possible. Luckily, a lot of you are not idiots, which is comforting. If you read this story you either

A) Have never played Houdini (or Critter or Rybka or a similar engine)

B) Have never played chess

C) Dont understand probabilities

D) Believe in dimensions from another universe of which his nephew must be one.

there is roughly a 1 in 216,272 chance of someone with a 1200 rating beating someone with a 3334 rating. That is not taking into  account that a computer is always going to be consistent. (see http://www.bobnewell.net/cgi/elop.pl)

that is giving way more credit to his nephew than he deserves. It is more likely your nephew has a blitz rating of less than 900 which gives him a 1 in 1.2 million chance of winning.

Its more likely you die from: falling out of a bed, a tornado, lightning.

Or that you : flip a  coin and correctly guessing the answer 21 times in row. Get dealt a royal flush with the first five cards right off the bat.

Odds Mark is a lying? well you can do the math.

This might be applicable in human terms, since after 216,000 odd games any human will probably make a blunder.  However a computer never will, the probability of a 1200 human beating Houdini is 0, absolutely 0 no way around it.

You did read my post right? or you are being redundant for effect?

I like to join right before the cops come and lock the forum and the party down.

Analyse games with a strong chess engine and boost your rating

Nope, it doesn't boost your rating. At least not at the beginner and itermediate level.

Kid, really, go outside, breathe some air and play ball with other kids instead of trying to be witty. This really isn't the right place for you, maybe try your luck on chesskid.com, children are more gullible, they'll certainly all believe in your story.

Sydfhd: i meant if anyone cheats on chess.com by analysing live or slow chess games on a strong chess engine, he would easily crush his opponent and boost his online rating.

Admission of guilt. You heard the guy, he has used an engine to boost his online rating. take him away. No trial. No jury. Its the labor camps for you son.

Actually, I'm not so sure they did.  He just stated that one can use an engine to do so.

I think Bob also played a complicated song for 4 hands with his feet on the piano, while beat Chuck Norris in 600 wrestling matches without breaking a sweat, at the same time saying moves aloud against Houdini, Critter, Rybka, Stockfish, Komodo, Naum, and Hiarcs. Beating them all.

Btw: I think he was blindfolded when he did all of this.

There's a cheaper, longer and better bridge for sale here in MI.  I'll sell for 50 Euros.

Probably more than 216,000 people with a 1200 rating have played Houdini, which means it would likely have happened by now to someone.
