well... compare the position before nxe4 white has a strong center knight on e4 which is fantastic compared to black's nd7 but after nxe4 nf6 black has gained a positional trump he now has no weak knight on d7 and he got rid of the strong knight on e4, that's why nxe4 is a good move

Seems good as a logic! but black could FIRST improve his position with a5 or something else,preparing the c5 break and then trade knights!?

It's better to keep your options open but I don't see anything wrong with a5 first but after you trade knights c5 is definitely viable then
