I definitely think there is room for improvement. No one site has everything I want.
So chess.com, what do you think about a "top tournament" link, maybe in the "news" section.
It would have all the important info (and none of the crap) all in one place.

C*****4 has live coverage, but apparently people didn't like that either.
First of all, here's the link to the official site:
https://worldchess.com
Why is it all official tournament websites are so excruciatingly awful?
As a fan, what I want to see when click on your site:
1) Up to date crosstable
2) Time and date each round starts
3) The ability to view and download all games
I understand the landing page needs to be filled with sponsors and other advertisements. Fine. But at the very least DIRECT links to those things should be PROMINENTLY displayed as well.
Most official sites hide the info people actually want to see, you have to click 3 or 4 times to find it (and even then the format is awful and hard to read) but the candidates site doesn't even offer that much.
So where do I go?
I go to chessgames.com first, because it prominently displays the current standings and has all the games.
http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=92582
I also go to
https://2700chess.com
Because it displays the results of the day, the time the round starts (and also lets you see the games).
