Then we get into the "sexy" chat, as if that's what I'm here for. This ranges from the general "A/S/L?" inquiries to "Hey...want to chat?" [no, I want to play; we're playing a game right now] to downright nasty "requests." I'm sorry, did you think we were on a dating site, or a hookup chat room? We're not. This is chess.com. C-H-E-S-S.com.

Then, usually around the time I start to win, the derogatory comments come rolling in, all-to-predictably. B-word. C-word. Threats to sexually assault me. Whatever. Do you think you're bothering me with that? Do you think it even makes a dent? You think I haven't been called a B on this site every single day since I've been a member? Come on. Get creative.

Anyway, yes, women play chess. GASP! Can you please get over it and just PLAY?
