it is legal to use books and databases in playing daily chess. You just can't use computer engines.

Im sending a 14 day per move challenge game to my friend (actually my kid, but their account is "friend" to my account).
Should I always send these as unrated? Because im studying chess openings, playing against the AI trying to analyze and understand why moves are good or bad etc. I don't want to risk some kind of cheat detection due to our long game. But I'd think it would be almost impossible for me not to unintentionally use some of the knowledge of openings etc that im learning while the days pass by as we play the game. But say this was a rated game, couldn't this be considered a kind of cheating by the chess.com systems? I mean it's my kid, im not interested in the rating just to have fun, im absolutely not wanting to try to cheat to win, and certainly not to against my kid. But I know they like it when we play rated, because they feel that's exiting (and I let him know that for rated I'll do my best to win). But for now I'll play our long games unrated. But what are your thoughts on this? Should I perhaps send a support ticket to ask the staff/admins?
