Player goes from 1750 to almost 2000 in one week!

One of the greatest streaks I have seen, Allen Stern, rated 1758 as of August 1st,  goes on an absolute tear at the US Open and Cleveland Open, beating or drawing no less than 11 higher rated players!

Stern's rating had been hovering in the 1700-1800 range for nearly 2 years before these results! Guess everything finally clicked.

Has anyone else seen such sudden rating increases before?

Phillip York went from 2200 to 2600 in about a year. That's pretty impressive.

I went from 1200 to 1700 in two weeks, then went from that to like 1100 in a week. But my score is going back up now! Kinda slowly, though. 🙁😊🙁😊🙁😊

I know it's a severe problem online, but it's actually quite a bit tougher OTB because the risks are way higher in every possible way.

And for the "modern generation" "everyone plays blitz" but getting the "chair power" for OTB is tough! I;m due for more games this year, I'll settle for a modest 60 points!

lol peaked at 1999 and dropped back to 1870. Should have withdrawn from the Atlantic Open after first round
