Psychology in OTB

I think I’m finally figuring out the psychology aspect behind these over the board games:

1. Prior to the match, boost about your skill level.
2. Breath heavily.... especially on the exhale.
3. Hit the clock as hard as possible.

Ultimately though this is a losing strategy, and not suggested. Good moves beats psychology 😂😂😂

Just don't shower for a few days before the tournament.  I once played a really smelly guy, and I'm blaming my loss to his smell.

Things are more "lax" at club matches, but in OTB tournaments play, those 2 will get you a talking to from the TD (If the opponent complains)

#2 i can relate to, as  i have a friend that breathes loudly,  he doesnt mean to do it, and doesnt even know hes doing it, but a couple times his opponent has complained.

#3 You see from kids a lot, trying to be aggressive, and "psyche" the opponent out. I have had to pause the clock more than once, and ask them not to hit the clock so hard.  If they dont listen, then i get the TD.

LOL you would expect all of that nonsense would be coming from immature adolescents, but no not here... these are grown men in there upper 50s acting like children otb. I just stare at them with a quiet smile and try my best not to laugh when the breaking point comes and the sign of defeat hits their face. Yesterdays game he literally slammed his king down to resigned lmao
