Server errors - worst game online ever - Someone tell me another chess online website

Fedalovic

This online game is so irritating and probably one of the worst online games ever. It has happened to me in many many occasions but never so bad as the last one.

Literally a few moves from winning the game, with +1:30 minutes of time left. My oponent only 3 seconds left and not enough moves/time from winning by any chance. All of a sudden the server fails and I lose due to "retirement". Yeah sure I retire in a winning position.

I already had an account that I deleted a long time ago exactly because of this errors. Now I gave it another chance and I see that they don't solve anything.

Can someone tell me a different chess online platform please? That or I make one myself and we all move to that one. What do you think?

This people are the worst and its also super hard to get points back or get in touch with them.

I am leaving asap.

Why would we care if you leave?

This is a problem, but not an easy one to fix and not unique to chess.com. But, such is life. For what is offered, having a game or two out of a hundred mess up because of bad connection is a back burner issue in my mind

Apparently you have to pay to overcome it. It's like it's built in to the system for getting people to pay.

In my case is more like 2 games every 5. So 40%...

Then your WiFi is trash, simple, this has never happened to me?

Yea, get better WiFi. Any other chess website will do the same.

I've seen two separate topics about these kind of issues today. Here is my response.

You lost due to server issues. That's life. Chess.com servers are not "internet utopia". If you want "internet utopia" or at least better servers, then splash out a few bucks a month.

Try getting better Wi-Fi. That will probably be part of the issue.

As @LeeEuler said, losing 10 games out of 1000 for me is just life. Whenever I lose a game to internet or server issues, I go "That's damn annoying, but I have to deal with it. Onto the next game."

So, please, anyone who is considering leaving chess.com due to these kind of things, don't. Every website will have its issues. Nothing will change. Instead, either A) deal with it or B) report it onto the "Site Feedback" and hope things get better. I'm getting a little sick of these kind of forum posts.

And by the way, @Fedalovic in the game you were talking about, you were down -17.5 on the move on which the server died for you. Did you even analyze the game? Hardly surprising, you were down three points with an open king while a black Queen, Bishop and Pawn swarmed around it. Think about what you were saying. "Literally a few moves from winning the game". (although I admit that it would be difficult for black to win the game with 3 seconds - but it's not impossible)

Yeah I am very aware of that. The only way I was going to win was due to time, that's what I meant by a few moves from winning. At some point when I realized that during the game I let myself go a bit that is why it seems like black had the advantage by the end.

It's your wifi, I've never had this issue

Same with me! Bad connection has cost me many games, specially recently.

As others have suggested it is likely a problem on your end if it is that bad

Technically they can still play 30 more moves without losing on time
