Phiona Mutesi is a Ugandan chess player. She has represented Uganda at four Women's Chess Olympiads, and is one of the first titled female players in Ugandan chess history. Mutesi is the subject of a 2012 book and a 2016 film called 'Queen of Katwe'.
 

Soledad Gonzalez de Huguet was an Argentine chess player who hold the title of Woman International Master. She was a two-time winner of the Argentine Women's Chess Championship.

Dinara Khaziyeva, is a Canadian Woman International Master and Women's Canadian Chess Championship winner.

Natalia Khoudgarian is a Russian-born Canadian chess player. She was awarded the title of Woman International Master by FIDE in 1996. Khoudgarian won the Canadian women's championship four times: in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012. She competed in the Women's World Championship in 2006, 2008 and 2012

Maili-Jade Ouellet is a Canadian Woman Grandmaster in chess.

Jackie Peng was 2011 Canadian Amateur Chess Champion; and she represented Canada on the Women's Team at the 40th Chess Olympiad.
