Single gender Chess- Why?

I searched in world chess championships on google, and one of the results were Women's World Chess Championships. To be quite honest I find this is silly. I believe, for the good of the game, and for standards, both genders should play in the same tournaments. Because, male and female differences do not affect the mind (to my knowledge) hence, no gender has a advantage when it comes to Chess. It's the same with Poker. What do you think?

The women chess championship is mainly to draw extra attention to women chess players and encourage more women to pick up chess, it's not because they are geneticly inferior to men.
