stockfish and stoscfish clasic

shev1998

hi, it turns out that I have a question it turns out that they have stockfish and stockfish classic, but the stockfish is on github, and there is no exe, so how did they run or configure that in a UCI? or which one?  It should be said in advance that I am not going to use it to cheat, they are only for experimental purposes of a personal scope in which I face two modules Cheers

It' a UCI setting: "Use NNUE" enabled is Stockfish, this setting disabled is SF classic.

you mean that the diferences between this two is like the stockfish classic is not using nnue? because i want to know witch nnue is ussing in that case

Correct.

If the net is not specified, it is safe to assume that the embedded net is used,

To find out which particular net this is, note the exact version of SF and find it on https://abrok.eu/stockfish/. Next, find the previous patch whose desription starts with "Update default net to …", and there you have the version of the net.

but the latest version of that page means that is the strongest or what?

R5M8

It should be the strongest because they test before they release, but sometimes (rarely) patches are reverted, which results in a new version.

https://www.sp-cc.de/ regularily test new versions and keeps track of the improvements

hmm the last page (no this one) i see so many links, i sure that i get the windows x64 but what is the "sse3" or "avx2"? is like better that the other ones?

It depends on your CPU.

The versions are listed in decreasing order, fastest first.

The 1st one is for all Intel CPUs from 2013 or later and the latest AMD CPUs (Zen 3).

The 2nd one is for older AMD CPUs.

The others are for older Intel CPUs.

A version which isn't supported om your CPU won't start/will crash. Using a slower version won't hurt.
