Where do you play live chess in the Tampa Bay area? I stopped by the St Pete Chess Club around Christmas/ the New Year, but they were closed.

Thanks!

How’s the club coming along in Tampa. I’ve looked around the area. It’s rare to say the least.

The Starbucks in Hyde Park (near Howard & Swann in Tampa) has started to become a popular meeting place for chess.  Busiest times are on Friday & Saturday evenings, about 6-10 pm.

I’ll check it out today or tomorrow

Yenny-Leon

Lobito, I'll be there today starting at 5.  Couple of other decent players too.  Please bring your chess set.  We play with clock, or without -- flexible.

Hi there guys. Anyone interested in playing live chess in Tampa? In these crazy times it would be great to meet some new people and enjoy playing chess. Let me know, thank you!

I'm in Tampa, and ready to get a group started for weekly chess meetings.  I used to be a chess tournament director, for rated and unrated tournaments, in case anyone would like to try some quads.

Hi Mr-Horse, I am avaiable and ready to play some live chess.

Mr-Horse

We had a small but very enjoyable meeting on Sunday afternoon at a bookstore in Tampa.  We plan to continue meeting weekly on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons.  The exact schedule is still be worked out.  I have extra chess sets, so anyone interested is welcome to stop by even if you don't have a set.  Send me a private message for more details.
