By move 35 he plays specifically to draw yès because you didn't resign, the rest was just fun. To think he made a final mistake on move 81 is myopic. He made no mistake; he, not you, forced stalemate. He rewarded you for playing to the end, and it is then you who showboats by bragging about a result he gifted you. There's a master at my local Club who never loses but guess what he never wins because he draws every game intentionally. Chess is 67 percent not losing. He knows this, do you?
This guy showboated a little too much. This is why I never resign.
Yeah, he was trying to make the point that you should resign a clearly lost game and screwed up. He should have put you away fast and clean instead of fooling around. Not particularly mature behavior from either of you IMHO.
had a good laugh on this post well done mate!
HA!Stalemate! What's even funnier is that the player was much higher than you in rating!
I don't know what you guys are having a go at the OP for. ALWAYS PLAY TILL MATE, is what a lot of coaches even tell their students. He has every right to play on for as long as he pleases.
What does OP stand for?Seen it in several articles and forums.I'm pretty stupid (I know it doesn't stand for overpowered in this situation) But yes,I do agree with you on what you said on playing until mate.

Original Poster. that's the user that creates a thread in a forum like this
it's usually used because it's much shorter and easier than typing out the whole user name
Your opponent wasn't "showboating," he was trying to humiliate you as much as possible. What a jerk!
he only wanted to humilliate him in order to show him that he should have resigned a long time ago, which is absolutely correct. the fact that he got lucky with a stalemate doesn't change that at all
I'm sorry? Did I say anything about the stalemate?
What's that? No
Then don't bring it up
You only refute an argument I never made because you know the one I did make is too strong for you to refute.
errrm sorry, are you a bit stupid? I wasn't even quoting you lol
oops. it's still a stupid argument though

I just saw this where I got gifted...lol. That's sort of stupid. HE knows this?? Who ever said chess is about not losing didn't intend for players to throw away winning games. I know this. He obviously didn't. Do you?
