Two part question.

When playing on chess.com what are your favorite board and piece set? Part two: When playing in real life what is your favorite style of board and piece set? I'm hoping to buy a chess set next weekend and was just wondering what you folks are into and what's worth buying and what to avoid buying.

Had to check, but I use the Neo.  NeoClassical is what they mean I assume.  I can play chess on anything but "theme" sets although I'm not a fan of the ubiquitous German knight found in most wooden tournament sets.  I went overboard a few years ago and made scouring Ebay into a daily hobby.  Best bargains to be had although you need to be patient.  I have 2 ebony Staunton sets that I snagged for $100 and $140 that I use all the time.  Of course no one really needs anything more than one of those $20 12" magnetic folders.  I have one that's permanently glued open to use as an analysis set.  And of course there are any number of fine plastic tournament sets that are nicely weighted for short money also.

Actually I'd advise you to pick up a computer instead so you can post your games.  Every time I pass one of your games I feel guilty about not posting a diagram for you, but not enough to actually do it for you...wink.png

I eventually plan on saving enough money up to get a new laptop. The old one died on me u.u. Thanks for your input as always. Greatly appreciated.😎

Glad to help.  Of course the forums, especially Chess Books and Equipment have had about a gazillion threads on chess sets if you want to do a forum search and read up.  Good luck with your games and  search for a chess set.
