Well i am not agreed.Sometimes u need vacation or just a break. That is was i need now.
Vacation abuse
Are there at all any ways to give vacation time for people and at the same time not to allow vacation abuse?
The suggestion to resolve pairings once those who advance has been determined ignores the tactic of waiting until a cheat has been banned and preventing the cheat from advancing.
I am an another no-pay member (I belong to another site) and I mostly play longer time control games, though now I have 5 day, 7 day, and 14 day games going currently on this site. I was a little frustrated in my 14 day games tournament as my 1 st round section finished some time ago, and we were waiting some time for 2 games to finish. This tournament started in April 2014, and the 2nd round started last month(!). But I figure, you get hopefully some better games as people have more time to analyze games and often it has allowed me to go on vacation sometimes without having to take time off on this site ( the other tourneys were waiting for the next round). I still think it's not a bad idea for next round's pairings to be made and simply have some players finishing the current round as well as playing their next round's games as well, rather than hold up rounds where th majority of people finished ages ago (one game if I remember right had a player in a obviously lost rook and pawn ending). That and/or allow the TDs to call some games that are lopsided enough assuming the winning player is rated high enough to be certain of winning the game (minus the cases of someone going into a coma or cardiac arrest) :).
The only way to not have to put up with vacation abuse is to not play time-out protection members. If they have an upgrade membership simply abort the game. Basic membership users have limited vacation time and will eventually be forced to play.
I have an opponent that is using vacation after every single move!! It is really getting annoying now!! He would go on vacation whenever he is not making a move. When he does make a move, he goes out of vacation. Once he makes a move, he goes back on vacation. That is definitely abusing vacation time!! How do you deal with someone like that?? His name is ericpinoy. It is a team match.
If you feel someone is abusing their vacation time, please report it to the Support team via https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new: do not name & shame players in the public forums.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know where to post the abuse.

Your opponent is premium and has over 500 games going. The system/site is putting the account on vacation due to auto-timeout protection.

But what makes you think it's vacation abuse? Which rule does your oppenent break?
Why should any report abuse about vacation issue. Chess.com can always check how frequent somebody use that option. I shouldn't point logic for chess.com how to use that feature in code.
Why should anyone report about what is not forbidden? If one does have this or that amount of time (legally given time) - why should he/she care of when or how often ge/she uses that right of vacation time given to him/her by the Chess.com? Not long ago I decided to become a diamond member, the main reason for that was to have an access to all of my games played. I know that when my time is about to expire in my games, the site automatically stops my games and sets them to a "vacation-mode". I do not trust all that very much for I have lost several games during such a "vacation-mode" already. In any case my opinion is that if there were no such "vacation time available for abusing", there would be significantly less complaints about vacation abuse. But even before I became a diamond member - I did not pay any attention to how quickly my opponent plays or how often or how long he takes his vacation - I simply looked into my current games and saw - my turn to move is in so-and-so hours.
It would be nice to have the option of "No Vacation" matches like we do in tournaments. All of the tournaments I host are No Vacation allowed.
I am a translator, German English, and for myself I also studied Spanish and Italian at the University, and the words in Portuguese which you referred to are understandable (very similar with Spanish).
If we translate "vacans" from Latin (the language of origin of this word) - some of the meanings of that word are - "empty", "free" (and by the way, the word "cow" in Latin is "vacca" and has nothing to do with "vacant").
In any case the only question which can be about vacations - to be directed to the moderators of the Chess.com -
if they have nothing against numerous complaints about vacation abuse - the available vacation time may remain as it is now.
There is Latin language (in English everyone knows it as "Latin"), and just now I found out that in Portuguese it is "Latim"
did not know it
Latin is the mother language for the languages of the Romanic group (Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian, Moldavian)
Before I decided to become a diamond member, all the same, I did have vacation time, too, 30 days for one year. If vacations by itself were needless or simply a bad thing - we would not have them at schools, at the universities and everywhere else. There may happen different situations in life, and nobody can be sure that he always is able to have access to Internet and to have time (even if Internet is available all the time) for three days running. I mean, 3 days is the usual time control in the most team matches and probably in the most games on this site.
For example, I know that on the 5th of September I will have to go to a place where there will be no access to the Internet for more than one month (I have no vacation time left for this year), and therefore I am trying to finish all my current games as qickly as possible, spending 3-5 seconds for a move in my games, of course making rather many mistakes in the games, and my rating now is going down of course (my usual rating on this chess site is about 1850). But better to finish games, although with mistakes, than to lose on time after the next Monday.
People need vacations, but not so much vacation time for them to be able to abuse vacations.
Vacation time is a joke it hurts correspondence chess and therefore chess.com. Please make no vacation time correspondence games. The community will benefit from it.
