I'm 16, and I have a standard rating of 1300. I want to be able to play in tournements someday. So what I'm curious is, am I at a decent place right now for my age? I know I'm not ready yet, but how far am I from tournement play?

And i was 1000 1 year ago so really, anything is possible
its just about chess.com letting you go better! They work with bots and here are not near as much players like it seems! I was stuck under 1500 for years, because they just dont let me go over 1500. At one point i realized, always when i get to 1500, i play cheaters and lose rating... so i made a second account to try my best and i was 1700 in a few weeks.... this site is so sick, i cant find the right words.
Stop being a victim. Play elsewhere then. Play in your local chess club. I don't think chess.com needs to "keep you down" lol. What do they wiin from doing that?

I heard about a girl that went from 1000 uscf to 1810 uscf with WCM at the end of 2025... (I know them lol)

chess is hard, don't be discouraged by your rating and age. Everyone has different paths and strengths, I spent many years on lichess and FICS as a 1000 and now, after all this time, 2300 on chess.com
