1.g3 can be a bad move if you don't know what you're doing.
What is the worst possible first move for White?
Here is a ranking of the worst openings:
1: The Barnes Opening - f3
2: The Grob Opening - g4
3: The Amar Opening - Nh3
4: The Kádas Opening - h4
5: Sodium Attack - Na3
Stockfish says Grob is worse than Barnes and I personally think Kadas is better than Sodium
I guess if you use the Bird correctly then it isn't bad, but I've seen some people use the Bird without knowing what they're doing and get a brutal checkmate.
That's not the Bird's fault if the player doesn't play it well. If you don't know anything about the opening you are playing you will be bound to end up in some trouble.
Like refuting the grob requires actual knowledge of theory
The other moves just get refuted by natural moves

Nh3
Why is the Amar Opening bad?
you dont know if and only if you are under 500 ELO
A great opening for white try it out
Your Rapid ELO is 2200. I delete a 2 from this number

4. Qb3 you are telling me black has an easy time keeping the adv?
Also white can play 2. h3 to limit the damage
