Spanish with white & French with black are my favorite openings. Happy chess, ![]()
What's is everyone's favorite chess opening for white and black??
It's difficult to talk about a universally "preferred" opening, as it depends a lot on the playing style. With White, I appreciate the Italian Game or the Ruy Lopez for their fluid development and clear plans.
i like the modern defense and openings similar to the modern defense. i sometimes play center game for white and scavadian defense for black
Chickennoodlesoup, you blundered checkmate in one in a game in which you had 7 DAYS to move and you asking people what’s their favourite opening? Take a very very deep and long thought about what is actually important in chess if you don’t wanna be 300 forever.

No offense, but one, what are you talking about, two I haven't been playing much blitz so of course I'm gonna be a 300, three I never played a game with you, and four, I just wanted to know everyone's favorite opening, I don't see why I need to have a "very deep and long thought about what's actually important in chess" when I'm playing chess as a hobby, not a future job. And that checkmate in one game? That was a mistake, you can't really make no mistake in your life. You know Magnus Carlsen? He blundered 5 times in his career. That shows that everyone makes mistakes. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, but borovicka75, I don't understand why you're telling me this
By the way, every intermediate player should study 1.e4 e5 openings. Position in those so called open openings are usually sharp and exciting instead of closed openings. Modern defense in some degree violates the principle “fight for the centre” and therefore should be used only by experienced players with good defensive skills.

One, I do fight for the center, and everyone have different styles, I personaly don't like tight spaced openings, cause to me any moves is either put the pieces hanging or in the wrong place on the board. Two I do know my e4 e5 openings, such as the italian game, 3 knights game, center game and picculo paino: pianissomo verison. And three, I just asked people what's their favorite opening is, why do you care so much about my style and saying it's "wrong." Look, I'm not here to offend anyone, but I still don't understand why are you critizing me.
My opening for white:
- e4
- Semi-random moves
My opening for black:
- Semi-random moves
Semi-random moves? that's kinda funny, in a good way.
🤣
Why i am telling you what i am telling? You can call it a “bad habit”. I am a chess coach and i am used to tell people things i honestly believe they should hear to improve in chess. But if you don’t wanna improve in chess, i am deeply sorry for teaching you for free.
And to finally answer the question of your topic, i am playing 1.e4 as white and 1…e5 as black because a think that open games are most interesting ones.

This is my ultimate playing style
@borovicka75 okay, calm down. I appreciate your free lesson and I respect your opinion, but you don't have to be rude. we all have different playing style. and I'm pretty sure that's why chess is fun, chess rules never said to be strictly on one style. so please calm down and I will like to close this argument about the king's pawn opening and how we should use that opening out of any other opening
Hello everyone, what's your favorite chess opening??
