Ditto, I like them both, I often times like them even more than the rooks.
They are great at threating your opponents rooks, and queen.
I used to really hate rook end games. Many games end up that way however. So you definitely should study common end games with all pieces, and combinations of those pieces.
The knight has been a better companion more often. But that's mostly because I'm a low-end player so I can get some easy forks with him.
