Who is GM DrTancredi? Defeated Nakamura 21-15 in bullet.

@DrTancredi

So this happened recently, someone crushed Naka 21-15 in one minute bullet, something you don't see everyday. This person who is a GM prefers to remain anonymous.

Who is this mystery GM?

My bet is that its a player in the Sinqufield cup. The player joined Chess.com on July 16. Somebody arrived 2 weeks early for the tournament. If it is a Russian, it's either Karjakin, Svidler, or Nepomniatchi. My bet that this is Nepo doing some blitz and bullet practice.

Nakamura has not been doing enough Tactics trainer, he is not so sharp now.

BTW, I would not say that 21-15 is enough to say Nakamura got "crushed".

Crushed would be something like 21-8

Just curious, why 8?

Maybe it is an engine....they like to remain anonymous....

Maybe it is Kasparov(he had a secret account before using Rafael).

Wow, Unbelievable!!

Keep in mind this is a CONFIRMED Gm.

its entirely plausable that someone Very strong is undercover.  there's no reason to retort to forbidden cheating allegations.

as for kaspy.  I don't think kaspy is quite strong enough.  Maybe.  but MC is clearly quite plausable. and he HAS publically admitted to making undercover secret identities.

Other Elites on a good day; Could do that, as well.

Nigel Short says he's 99% sure it's Fischer.

i would think that nakamura knows who it is
wouldnt seem cool if you played someone who knows who you are while you remain in the dark

kasparov not strong enough? arguably kasparov is strongest player in chess history. he beat nakamura in a blitz match.

Yeah and I'm pretty sure Naka would've contacted Chess.com to know who it is. I would want to know if I were Naka. My guess is it's definitely someone in the top 10.

 Kasp is way past prime

THE_TERMINATOR_23

kasparov is busy and has his own account. a 54 year old won't beat naka in bullet for heaven's sake

You're probably right. I don't think Nepo's strong enough to out-bullet Hikaru, though (even though some of the game's looked a bit "Nepo-ish"). Karjakin seems like a better bet.

Hikaru played this mystery player in blitz, too, 9 games—but there, Hikaru dominated the match. (6W-2D-1L). So maybe it was Nepo after all... I imagine the blitz score would've been closer to even had it been Karjakin.

does carlsen even play online chess anymore (except for tourneys)?
