Durn, I've never seen this before!
Why are chess titles divided up based on gender?
Perversely, it's to encourage a minority to participate.
If women don't want to play, I'm not sure how this sort of thing is encouraging. I suppose sexism is still entrenched enough the world over that many don't even notice, and it actually ends up working
Suppose it were somehow found that Asian people have more brain cells by far than Caucasian people, and are smarter on average by all measureable tests. So what? That doesn't make them "superior". It would just be a piece of information. A lot of people tend to have this philia for people who able to recite things, able to do complex calculations etc.
Of course that makes them superior on average, but only with respect to those specific tests. When it comes to chess, I have no problem admitting that you are superior to me, because it's true.
Because it's harder to study in the kitchen.
This has to be one of the most revolting people I've ever seen on the site. Nearly all his posts are sexist tripe.
It seems to me that a game based solely on mental capacity wouldn't be divided this way.
100% agree!!! thnx!
Is there any sport that is not divided by sex?
A man's division and a woman's division?
Chess isn't. But I don't know if you consider chess a sport or not.
