Something that has bothered me about chess is the distinction between WGM and GM. To have two different titles implies difference, and in a game of the mind this implies a difference of the mind, hence skill.

Hi guys

While the titles of WGM and GM in chess may imply a difference in skill, it is important to remember that both titles represent exceptional mastery and expertise in the game. https://ffstylishname.com

GM, IM and FM can be obtained by women and men but WGM is a lower rating than GM and even an IM for that matter and that's because of the skill difference, just like in sports men and women basketball are separated as well as football, soccer, etc. Men and Women are separated because of the difference in skill and strength, in sports men tend to be more aggressive, faster, stronger, taller, etc so to avoid women from getting hurt or have no chance of winning they are separated and is not misogynistic, its life. men are naturally more athletic then women and in chess men are naturally stronger than women when it comes to abstract strategy games. Now of course women could still obtain the GM title but since there are a VERY small percentage of women who actually obtained GM with only 40 women till this day but there are 322 WGM's till this day, hence the majority of women have 2300 rating. Men on the other hand, there are 1742 grandmasters till this day, majority of grandmasters are men which is why there is a separate title for women when they reach 2300+ but they can only get the GM title after the conditions has been met so until than they would stay as a WGM because it wouldn't make sense to give them the GM title if the conditions of obtaining the GM title hasn't been met. It's not s#xist, its not misogynistic and it's not about hating women but people have to realize the facts and why there is a separate title for women grandmaster's and grandmaster's. So with all due respect you can't hate or blame FIDE or anyone else for that matter, they made the WGM title not to mock or insult women but it's based on percentage and majority wise.

Hi guys

While it's true that men have historically dominated chess and sports due to physiological differences, it's important to recognize that skill and ability can't be generalized solely based on gender.

Chess is nothing like a real war...well this should be self evident, chess is a board game with a set of rules, a time limit, a winner and a loser; war is a bunch of people killing each other, often for no reason.

The game of chess was initially based on the four branches of the ancient Indian Land Army: Cavalry, Infantry, Elephants and Chariots. It was originally called “Chaturanga”, which referred to these four martial elements.

It lets them know: “You’re good! You know, for a girl…”
It comes with a pat on the head and a medal that reads: “You’d be prettier if you smiled.” 😆
(Seriously, it’s a really stupid idea. Just use the same titles for everyone.)

There are about 2000 male GMs and about 50 female GMs. Those females who have the full GM title have a reason to be proud, but the fact is that there are different titles because there are many more strong male players.

Almost all sports distinguish between the sexes and the reason is the same - not to do so would sideline the majority of females. Imagine tennis if all singles events were mixed male and female!

The female titles are more select in a sense - there are fewer WGMs and WIMs combined than there are GMs!
