i am wondering how wins/losses by abandonment get classified. Players from some countries probably show a higher than normal percentage of losses by abandonment that would be very interesting to reveal.

You can do it in the Archive as well, under the Openings drop-down.
They added the abandonment category now. It says that I abandoned 9 blitz games over the last 9 years. (Out of 8,394 games to date.)
I am guessing that some players will have lost 20% of their games by abandonment. It will interesting to see.
So now players can look and see how big a factor these things are and compare rates by time control.
I am hoping that someone in admin will take a look at the global results and provide a breakdown.
