wood, bronze leagues etc.

Which day and time do these reset in the UK? Do you get a badge for being in the league or do you have to be top three?

It seems time consuming, would be interested to hear from those taking part in them of their experiences. (if they have time lol)

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I got more than 1000 for the first division (when everyone was in wood) but it was too much time "lost" so right now I will just try to be at least top 3 (and also 3|0 is good for gaining points)

so these are rapid, blitz? I play the odd rapid 30 min game but I am really a daily player mostly.

They reset 12 pm Pacific, 8 pm GMT. You don't get any badges for finishing but you will get an achievement if you promote to the next League.

You get points for games in live, that are standard chess or 960 and are normal tone controls (any of the quick selections). Arenas give bonuses.

You might have to play an aweful lot of fast games to move up them I think?

Depends on the division you end up in.

When I was trying, most of the divisions once I made it to Crystal and Elite we're playing a lot more games than I was willing to spend time on so I quit trying to promote.

I have noticed that it looks like you don't get placed in to a league until you play a game that qualifies for league play....

I suspect (but haven't tried this, chalk it up to poor self-discipline) that one way to "game the system" is to wait to play a qualifying rated live game until a few hours remain for the week's league, then play non-stop until it ends.....

Unless they've recently changed how league assignment works, this seems like a way to "sneak in" to the next level tournament without competing non stop all week long. Unless they've thought of this and somehow block people from joining a freshly generated league right before the deadline...

Having said that, I haven't tried it yet. Because I can't seem to stay away from live games all week. happy.png

You can't wait that long. If a division doesn't fill until Friday, that division doesn't end until the Sunday a week later.

@Martin_Stahl ah, ok that strategy was anticipated and dealt with then. Good! Still, it's probably going to be a bit less work to win at the higher levels in a division created mid-way through the week, compared to battling it out all week long. Unless there are other semi-devious players thinking the same thing happy.png the psychology / "game theory" of it all is interesting.

Still waiting on mine.

Apparently the backfill process hasn't been fixed yet.

Apparently not. I spent less time waiting for Godot. frustrated
