Your opponent won't resign? Promote your pawns to Knights, and mate him!

Four Knights working in harmony are more powerful than 3 Rooks, IMO.

Edit Wednesday March 27, 2:31 AM . Why I have a "low" 3-minute rating is noted several posts below. Seems people are missing it and still asking about it.

Don't you hate it when you have to checkmate someone when they are behind say, 3 Queens? Well, here's a blitz game played on another server in their 3 minute pool. This fellow had been rude to me before. I had turned down a draw offer, then he won. He proceeded to bombard me with "tells" what a fool I was. Now, I make him famous...

Anyway, I have a current online game I was going to make 4 knights in. The guy never gives up, plays all games on to mate. however, he just allowed a mate in two, so I m sparing him.

Add your 4 knight mates here. If you're opponent plays on to mate, link this thread if you wish and suggest you will post your game n here. He may give up sooner....

I'll be back when my games with [Name Removed] are over.

Lol, In the past  I did a bunch of games like that against my computer. Just promote a few pawns to knights, and go after him. It helps learn the knight more

A NM at 1533 rating? And the date is Dec 2010?

If you knew anything about the server this was played in, the 3-minute pool has low ratings. there are GM"s around 1900 often. Also, I do not play blitz well, I prefer to have time to think. My high rating in the 3 minute pool was 1858 and I left it at 1709. In the 5 minute pool, I only broke 2000 once, and reside at 1937 now, but in the 15 minute pool my high is 2156.

I know players with 1900 USCF ratings who have much higher blitz ratings than I do.

lol nice chekmate

You definitely can't tell someone's OTB rating by their blitz rating. I don't like blitz at all is the main reason I do not play it. Haste makes waste.

HallOfFamePlayer

How childish to tell others to tell others to do this XIX someone refuses to resign, ur only wasting ur own time, two rooks are more powerful than 4 horses.

Suvel

yeah I prefer game 30 or more

Not to get in an argument, but it really depends on the position whether 2 rooks are more powerful than 4 knights. Most higher level players would perfer 2 pieces over one rook.

I would even go further to say I would like 2 connected pass pawns on the 6th rank  vs a lone rook trying to prevent one from queening, especially if its  my turn to move with the connected passed pawns. So position is everything, not what piece/s necessarily.

Great game!

suddenly funny endgame! Laughing

How true crimsonand bishop

Crimsom, I disagree with your assessment. His opponent was talking trash, and needed a lesson in humility. You're right it's easier to checkmate with two rooks on an open board, that was the point of promoting to knights. It takes a higher level of skill to checkmate with four knights.

Thanks for posting Mr. Richards.

Heres a game people may like ;)   I got 5 knights and 2 LSB, I could not write the moves down once I got the 5th knight lol. Was too crazy and it was a rapid game, so i played on and just went for chedkmate, I wish now I promoted my last pawn to get 6 knights but never mind, And

Mr. Richards I think you misunderstood something in my post. The 1st paragraph was quoted from halloffame. The rest is from me. Sorry for the confusion this has caused you. I have edited it so it is easier to understand. I was not agreeing with him.

Can not get along! Then take it to the chess board.

I did this to a trash talker with 22 simutaneous games. After my first 15 consecutive wins then he was all silent as i bet him several ways each game on purpose to demonstrate how superior i was to him. After a few months he left chess.com. We were in the same group and several players saw how i beat the ugly of his face. I think he only won 3 as i got bored whuppin that ......  I do my talking on the chess board as anything else is worthless.

CrimsonKnight7

What are you talking about RB ? I wasn't trash talking anyone. I think you are confused as well. Why don't you go back and read all the posts from me in this thread, before jumping to conculsions. Thanks, and good luck.

ogichidaag

Sorry Crimson, I didn't even see the other post you had quoted and assumed it was you who was saying it.

Also, my second paragraph was thanking Mr. Richards for posting the game. aww-rats is NM Bill Richards.
