A few questions from a newcomer pt. 3

Hello everyone,

I am finally getting familiar with this site some more, but I still have a few more questions - I'll try to make it quick this time :

1.) Is there a way to see an average accuracy of players based on their reviewed games, and also on the type of games they play (e.g. overall average accuracy - 75%, out of which Daily 80%, Blitz 70%)?

2.) I struggle trying to archive more than 4 conversations (it says something along the lines of 'This conversation has been archived', but it does not get moved), and I am also not able to send Direct chat messages to my friends (I get a prompt saying something like 'We are sorry, but the user is not able to accept your chat request at this time') each time, even though I always made sure to check that they are not in the middle of a game. Are those Premium only features?

3.) For some reason, the Daily game stats on my profile are not displaying correctly. When looking at my profile, it says that I won 123 games and lost 62, but in my complete stats, it's actually 121 wins and 78 losses?

For 1, the average accuracy of reviewed games used to be available on the Stats page but was removed due to a bug. My understanding is that should return at som point.

Not sure on 2, I never archive messages on purpose (have done it a few times on accident) so it's possible that is bugged when doing multiple. For chat, do you mean in Play? If so, it's possible they have Live chat disabled.

Not sure what's going on with your full stats page. You have 214 rated games in your archive. Its possible some non-tournament games that are too short are not included.

1) Further to what Martin said, you can also see your average accuracy in the insights page. That's a premium feature, but I think chess.com lets you try one week or one month of premium membership for free. Insights gives you your average accuracy by type of game and piece: pawn moves in daily - 80%, rook moves in rapid - 85%, etc.

As for 2.), I seem to be dealing with another bug, which is 1 conversation of mine randomly disappearing. After I send a message, it appears for a second, but then it disappears when I refresh the page. When I try to take a look at via by its direct link - to give en example, https://www.chess.com/messages/'usernameoftheperson' - it is not showing up.

As for the chat, I try to start the direct/chat conversation via Social -> and then pressing the Chat icon next to my friend's username, but it never goes through. I tried it with different people, and always with the same result.

Oh, and I also forgot to mention that I am also getting literally 0 vacation days. I started to play again in September 16th, 2023, so I would have expected to have at least 2 - 3 vacation days by now, but I got none.

At least I figured out what the problem with my stats was - I accidentally joined 1 Unrated Tournament without knowing - but apart from this, I really seem to be encountering some weird kinds of bugs.

I have only reported one bug in this site so far (Help -> Report a bug) and I think the answer was acceptable. They acknowledged what I was reporting was a bug and told me they're working on a full rework of the whole feature (daily tournaments lists in this case) that includes a solution to the bug, so it might take a while until it goes live. You might also want to try reporting the bugs you find, maybe they give you solutions.

If you send a message to a member that is muted, you'll initially see it but won't see it again unless you send another one

For the chat, try sending one to me and see if you get the same issue.

Not getting vacation days has been reported and there's a ticket in on it I believe.

So, that member is not currently accepting messages, and if they change their settings, the conversation re-appears?

I tried to send you a chat message, @Martin_Stahl, and it worked! But I also tried it with like 4 different people from my friendlist, and it never did. Could we give it a try, @ALONSH0W? I believe that it has to do with some settings as well (it did not work with you also).

As for the vacation days and limited message archive, I should be contacting support, then?

No, the messages settings don't impact that. If you can send, and it disappears, that means their account is muted (all their content is hidden). That mute status impacts your sent messages to them as well.

You need to wait a few months for vacation

The conversation now re-appeared, so the person most likely un-muted themselves - I just don't know if my last message to them went through, considering that I sent it during the period when they were muted?

@TraxxasProRacer, thanks a lot, I can wait a bit. I now got this idea, that maybe my vacation days do not appear at all, considering that I've joined a 'no-vacation' Tournament? Or, this does not have (any) impact on whether my vacation days show up or not?

You can see how many vacation days you have in Settings > Daily Chess but if you're in a no-vacation tournament, you won't be able have those games paused on vacation.

Thanks a lot, I've just checked and I finally received my first vacation day! Still, it seems like there's a delay or that I did not get all the days that I should have. But, it's good to know that I can finally go on vacation - I'll make sure to use my day off wisely if needed.

Yeah, there has been a bug with vacation accrual. I believe it's been fixed now.

I also managed to archive one more message, but after that, it stopped working for me again. But, at least I am now at 5 archived messages instead of 4 - gotta keep taking baby steps.
