Active topic not on top in forum overview - why? (v3)

There is a problem with this topic:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess960-chess-variants/looking-for-opponents-games

As I am writing this, the latest posts are few minutes old. But in the 960 forum overview this topic does not come on top.
This is confusing: when visiting the chess 960 forum I expect active topics to be on top, and that is how I usually keep track of where I want to read an perhaps respond.

Yeah, a bug apparently crept in. There are a few topics about it and for sure a few bug reports. Haven't seen any staff posts about it yet, though with the way it is working, it might be kind of hard to find them meh.png

I noticed same thing!

I hope chess.com moderators (or software dept.) can fix soon.

Example of problem - this thread:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/is-chess-as-hard-as-backgammon-1

had comments added this morning, but is listed as if 10 days old.

Please fix!

The problem is a back-end coding or DB (or both) issue, not something anyone but staff can handle. Moderators don't have the ability to fix things,  just moderate content.

It's happening in the Off-Topic Forum as well.

I've sent two messages to staff by the "report a bug" feature, but have heard of no response.

Is the chess.com programming team aware of this, and doing anything about it???meh.png

On v2 it's also a problem.

Yes staff is aware. They don't reply to bug reports unless there is a clarification needed.

I know one of the staff members in real life and he told me that a developer has been assigned to the problem.

It has been more than a week, and still not fixed. Others are annoyed by this too, such as (here).meh.png

Why so long to fix something that has been working fine for years?angry.png

evert823

If it hasn't been fixed then it isn't getting priority. A nice forum is one of the things that made me choose for a Gold membership, and this is annoying and very unprofessional.

vickalan

I think it's been fixed. Yay!happy.png

But 11 days was too long to fix something that was previously working fine for years.

I doubt chess.com will tell us how it became broken, but would be nice if they did.happy.png

I was asked to test after a fix was put in and when I initially tested, it didn't work, even though it was working for the staff member that asked me to do it. Later that day, it started working for me but as far as he was aware, nothing new had been changed,
