FYI, here is the ADA Reasonable Modification request submitted by trouble ticket and copied to Ben G., DoE:
Assuming Chess.com is a US concern, subject to all federal laws thereof, I need to make an ADA Reasonable Accomodation request:
- Create an ADA Permitted Vacation Hold
During my most recent incapacition, I found myself unable to continue playing, even though my play had extended to a full 3 days. I'm usually very active play, and only go to a day when very ill. However, Vacation Hold was not permitted.
As I am not the only "disabled" player here, I know this is an issue for others with the same limitation.
Also, I would have directly messaged admin, as couldn't find "contact us" or support anywhere on site; therefore I had to post in the most relavant forum and a friend gave me the support link. Having to post in a forum serking such assistance, just when my stabilized and I was able to resume play just in time (4hrs), the effort caused a releaspe and I then timed out of my games which I never had.
Therefore, a Support/Contact button needs to added to the main menu for accessibility.
Thanks!
TT, the support link is found at the bottom of each page however, it isn't very visible and not obvious where you should direct your request.
Jimmykay, your comment about TT being an offensive troll is uncalled for. People with disabilities have rights too!

Yes they absolutely do, and that is why I find this thread offensive.
There is ample vacation time available to all players. The OP joined a tournament that specifically does not allow vacations. When one does that there are specific warnings. MOST tournaments allow vacations, and all the OP needs to do is join tournaments that allow vacations.
I do not think it the poster is legitimate. I think the OP is making this as an attempt at irony, and I find it offensive to disabled people. If it is legit, I find it offensive that a non-paying visitor is demanding rights to get extra vacation time as if this is a legitimate concern. The OP is either abusing her disability for trivial nonsense, or the OP is making fun of disabled people by making a preposterous request and passing it off as legitimate.
Bawahahaha! "Not very visable" - searching, searching, oh, the teeny tiny fine print "report" on the ad at the bottom?! Good grief, how did you figure that out, much less find it.
Thanks again! And thanks for your response to the troll. It's a shame he doesn't mind his mama.

If you are a troll, it is irrelevant. If you are actually disabled, please explain why you think you should get vacation time in tournaments specifically labelled "no vacation". Why do you not simply join tournaments that allow vacation time?
I believe that you may actually be disabled. Trivial demands like this detract the ability of people with serious issues to get the help they need.
Jimmy, I think she's legit. Scroll to the bottom of any page, click on help & support. That brings you to another page. Look at the top right hand corner. Contact us should be in white. Sorry to hear about your relapse. We don't get a lot of request from the ADA.
I think she is legit, now, too. That is even worse. Most tournaments here allow vacation time. She specifically chose to play in one that does not allow it, and then made demands. That chess.com gives ample vacation time to all members, whether they are paying members or not, is MORE that adequate to meet her needs.
It is as if she went out of her way to find a tournament that does not allow vacation time in order to make a complaint.
I have spend time disabled, and it is exactly these types of frivolous complaints where adequate accomodations are available that make it that more difficult for serious requests to be addressed.
I find this behaviour reprehensible.
I have asked her specifically why she chose to join such a tournament which give several warnings that no vacations are allowed before joining them, and she ignored my question.
Jimmy; I agree with you about not joining a tournament with no vacation, but she's only been here 6 months. With any kind of disability, you have good days and bad days. She may have just made a mistake, and now is embarassed. We've all done that, but you and I have been here for a couple of years. People don't plan for seizures. Depression can make you walk away from everything for days. The word is "reasonable". If she, or anyone, continues to complain about every little thing, then yeah, I'll be right behind you calling her a troll. Take care.
Give TT some latitude. Before you treat her as a suspect, read her page first. Please, take her as sincere....don't people deserve that first ?....Best of Luck TT........
Contact us shouldn't be so difficult to find even for able people. A link on every page would be nice.

Not sure if this is serious. As just some guy on the internet, I am not subject to this law and am in violation of nothing.
Now you are accusing others of abusing vacation holds?
This is the oddest thread of the year. Untracking.

Duh! The "oversight" is being rectified - for everyone! Received a response in less than 24hrs from Shane - an exceptional young man!
He is now working on inserting Contact/Support to title bar; soon every member of the Chess.com community will be able to locate assistance in an instant, when they need it.

Please advise me by message of the appropriate person to whom this request should be dircted, or have them contact me. I would have directly messaged admin, but couldn't find "contact us" anywhere on site; therefore I had to post in the most relavant forum. Thanks!
