App lag for no apparent reason

So while at work I decided to play a few games. In the browser, I had no issues. When I swapped to the app to play I started experiencing lag with full 4G LTE service. Nothing else is having an issue except for the Chess.com app. I lost a game because of auto-resign while having full service. What is the cause of this?

Other things on your device sharing the connection possibly and the route your traffic takes, between the two different connections, can be different where one has a problem and the other doesn't.

I understand, I was curious for any sort if explanation. When I disconnected but before auto-resigned, I exited all other apps to try to help but it was a no go that time
