The ipad ap is offline most days for hours. Reinstalling the ap has not helped. Any ideas?
What kind of connection do you have on your iPad? (Wi-Fi/3G)
Have you tried using the safari app to see if your connection changes at all?

I use wifi and 3G at times. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I am able to get on the site using Safari. Usually later on in the day, I close and reopen the chess.com ap and it works fine.
The actual error message is more like " the site is being maintained, and will be back in no time..."
You should only see that message for a brief period- and you should see the same message on the site as well. That just means that we're doing some upgrades on the site and that it'll be back up shortly :) I'd say close the app completely- and check back in about 20 minutes and it should be back up. We really try to minimize the amount of time that the site is down for maintenance, so typically it doesn't last very long.

Enter Chess.com- and if it says just for you let us know and we'll try to help you get it figured out!
Thanks for the response, but I am still frustrated...this only seems to be the iPad ap, only occasionally the web site is down,it goes on daily from about 9AM until 4PM. I have to reopen the ap 3-4 times.
I guess my underlying question is "why does there have to be daily maintenance...?"
