I get NSFW image in ad.

Has this chess site become a porn site or what. There's only one word for it, disgusting.

The ads you see are provided by a third party, usually Google in the United States.

However, other countries may use other ad servers.

How do I report a bad ad?
Updated over a week ago

At Chess.com, we strive to provide our users with a safe and enjoyable experience on our platform. However, despite our efforts to block bad ads, a few may slip through the cracks. If you encounter any inappropriate, loud, or aggravating ads while using Chess.com, please inform us by submitting a bad ad report.

To submit a bad ad report, please use this form. We kindly request that you do not email our support team for bad ad reports. Using the Chess.com Bad Ad Report form will ensure that the correct team reviews and addresses your complaint as quickly as possible.

Capturing a Screenshot of the Ad

In some cases, we may need more information about the ad to effectively block it. If you need help capturing a screenshot of the ad, please refer to the instructions below based on your device:

Android

Hold down both the "Volume Down" and "Power" buttons simultaneously for 1-2 seconds. Your screen should flash white, indicating that the entire screen has been captured as a photo.

iOS (iPhone or iPad)

Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button, then immediately press and release the "Volume Up" button. Your screen should flash white, indicating that the entire screen has been captured as a photo.

MacBook

Press and hold the "Command" and "Shift" keys, then press "3". This will capture the entire screen and save it as a file on your desktop, with the file name "Screen shot - [date and time].png".

Windows

Press and hold the "Windows" and "Shift" keys, then press "S". Use your mouse to draw a rectangle around the ad to specify what to capture. The screenshot will then be copied to your clipboard, where you can paste it into a document or save it as an image.

Google Chromebook

Press and hold the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys, then press the "Show Windows" key. This will capture the entire screen and save it as a file in your Downloads folder. Alternatively, you can press "Ctrl + Shift + F5" to capture the screen.

Finding the Click-Through URL

If you encounter an ad that requires more information for us to effectively block it, you may need to provide us with the click-through URL. This URL will usually look something like this: https://www.test-iq.org/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIk6-J3b-s_wIV8ZYnAh2vzw2GEAEYASAAEgKVfvD_BwE.

If you need help finding the click-through URL, you can follow these steps:

1. Right click on the ad and click “Copy Link Address” where you can then paste the link in the chess.com Bad Ads Report form

2. Click on the ad and copy the URL of the landing page that it directs you to. It will be located in the address bar of the web page.

Your comment was helpful but I'm not clicking on that link. How do I know ...

Also, the browser I'm using is completely SFW, so there's no cookie or history which could trigger such silly Dubai ad

You can get the link without leaving chess.com by right-clicking on it. This comes from the form:
