(Posted from my son's account but from my laptop)
My son has been using chess.com happily from his machine Vista (with Vista Parental Control turned on) for over a year now* - yes there are a few warnings:
'Parental controls have bocked access to...' etc as social networking sites are blocked so Twitter links would be blocked etc.
However this has not stopped him playing.
This evening he could not submit moves for his 'Online Chess' games and had to use my Laptop.
Any ideas - as I am not prepared to turn off parental controls on his machine and it would be a shame if he had to stop using chess.com

First I have to say your Son is a wonderful kid and one of the most advanced chess players I have ever played at his age. He is always considerate and a gentleman. I tip my hat to both parents for doing your job so well.
With that... I am not familiar with exactly why anything would have changed...but I would contact the Chess.com support staff and have them help you get back online. They have always been great with my problems which have been my uploading pictures to my chess home page. I am sure they will be able to figure out why this happened.
I would be very sorry if Callum couldn't play...not only because he has taught me a few things...but he is one of the brightest chess players I have ever had the pleasure to play against and has a great future as a chess master!
Good Luck solving the issue... :-)

Firstly thank you, I showed your post to Callum's mum, we are very please that Callum has made a good impression. He is basically a good kid.
With regards to the parental control software and Callum not being able to submit moves on Chess.com this problem has currently disapeared?
Odd but that's computers for you. I will probably be changing parental control software as Vista Parental control causes us other problems.
All the best

I agree with too, so editing the host files to block the sites seems to have nothing to do on him, you can try some web blocking software that will not easy to overcome.
the parental control software isn't letting me see what the pieces are. all i get is a picture of a piece of paper with a folded tip and the features are just triangles and circles.
