Revenge button

vikpt

I'am sure this subject has been address before. And why Chess.com doesn´t do anything about?

After the game finish, we have the options:

  • Revenge
  • New Opponent

But if our opponent click on Revenge our two options change to:

  • Decline
  • Accept

And they are on the same place, if we are going to click on Revenge, suddenly Decline appear and we refute the challenge..

Same for New opponent / Accept

Any thoughts please?

IMBacon

Where is there a "revenge" option?

vikpt

Hi, thanks for replying...

I really don't know what it says on english settings... i just tried to guess it..

Awesome518
That means rematch
DrSpudnik

"Revenge" sounds too grumpy and grudgy in English. People are bad sports enough as it is.

vikpt

C'mon guys, what it says or the meaning is not the point. The point is where it says and the suddenly change when our opponent click on Rematch.

Those first few posts were like somebody putting on a skit.

Drawgood

Revanche is simply the French term used to mean "rematch". In Russian it is also the same word when it relates to chess (sounds like REVANSH). It does not mean to imply "revenge" the same way as it is used in English in modern context. In english it is suggestive of one side gaining payback. In Russian at least it is suggestive more of an attempt or a challenge to try again.

Putting on a skirt, one leg at a time.

I was thinking the same thing.

JamesAgadir

I think calling it a revenge button is much more honest, it's what it's usually used for.

You guys are all like 'no thought' and 'yes thought'. I'll do you one better.

Deep Thought!

[At least it's connected to chess]

So if you try to press the Rematch button at the wrong time, like right after your opponent does it, the Rematch button will suddenly change into the Decline button.. lol.. And so you decline the rematch you were trying to create in the first place.. Perfect human factors design.. This is done for the purpose of bringing traffic to the forums.. It made this thread, as well as countless ‘Jow dare you refuse my REMATCH!!!’ threads.. It’s brilliant!

Someone actually address my point, thanks buddy!

Looks like Chess.com already swap the positions of the buttons...

If it was thanks to me i should get some kind of gratification from Chess.com... but i didn't even get a thanks message..
