they look like a lot of fun to play against. but if they're bots then I can't just send them a play request. how do you play them, if not just happening to bump into them randomly while in live games?
Galaxy_Chess_God

the bots are just using an account with a program forcing them to play with other players

Galaxy_Chess_God

and playing

If you are on the app and know their names, you can directly challenge them.

I did and never got a response from it. are they live only? bc I think I had requested a daily from one of them.

Yes, they are live only.

That's funny. I read this and just played one. It's really no different than playing the computer only you get a reward because they're rated.

Each bot plays differently and there is a large range of ratings possible.

I found a few lame ducks but @Elena-bot just tore me a new. Yeah! One of those. Round thing. Everybody's got one.

if I play a bot with an 1100 rating and I win; does that mean that I have the ability to play a human with an 1100 rating and beat them?

Not necessarily.

Boliviandefense

I can consistently beat all 1200 bots without any assistance. Nelson gives me fits but I can beat him occasionally. I have only won against 1500 bots with assistance (but have only tried once with and once without).

The thing is I am losing to humans in the 600-something range, fairly consistently, in 30 minute games The time element perhaps is a distraction. Something about playing a human is less predictable and it throws me off. I probably have a million thoughts that I don’t have with computer related to what they are thinking. It is like a performance anxiety.

Boliviandefense

I took a long untimed test and it rated me 1320. Again, the test is untimed and I am not interacting with a real person. I think playing mostly bots and tests does not give you the same experience.

Where is that untimed test located? I'd like to try it.

I used elometer dot net (University of Dusseldorf). Takes as long as 76 moves.

alphaomegadallas

Can someone provide a link to the bots? All I can find is the lowest-rated one, Jimmy. Last week I was able to play several of the higher-ranked ones, but now I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated.
