There really aren't a lot of official rules for clubs.

The community policies mentioned above are the closest you'll find.

I am concerned as I have heard that Chess.com is disabling clubs that let members advertise.

The only valid way to handle invitations is by the invite system.

Members doing it in other ways risk getting muted or their accounts closed.  I guess it is possible if groups were active soliciting their members to break those rules the clubs might get closed.

This is a random question, but:

Can mods see our Private Messages?

Some staff can if there is a need, moderators can't

I do not spam adverts and only give reference to my club when I feel this is relevant.

Yesterday, @GM_MAGNUS_KINGDOM said that he would join someone’s club if they post a link and the best ones would get a free Gold membership. I posted a link to my club and I got blocked from posting there, why?

If it was in a club, clubs can mute members based on their own rules.

It was in a public forum.

If the member blocked you, I can't say. Only that member could answer.
