join live chess on iphone app

hi from jakarta (indonesia). after reading many posts i am still confused. i understand how to get into live chess on line but cant find it on my iphone app. so i still can not play live chess iphone vs iphone with my friends

Hi ReubenHendrix, thanks for the reply. There are 75 people who read this post so I think a lot of people are interested in the solution. 

Here is what I am doing. 

1. I am sitting right beside my friend. We both have iphone. We both have chess.com app turned on. 

2. I click new game > Create Challenge  > Time 5 min (in Live Challenge selection), vs MY FRIEND NAME, Rated Game (on), Type Standard 

3. I click Play

Then I get message "MY FRIEND NAME" is not currently available for live games. 

He is right beside me. He has chess.com on. There must be something he do not right. Or something that I not click right?

(NOTE: Someone told me "You must both go to your laptop, then both go to Live Chess, then start game, then continue it on iphone app. Maybe it will work but that's crazy right?)
