My Game abondoned by chess.com while thinking
Chess.com can't tell the difference between you losing your connection and someone who abandons the game.
The only solution is for you to get a better connection.

Stop spreading this nonsense finally. You were told numerous times Live chess does disconnect players with excellent connection.

Told by who? The people with bad connections? The people who think that their opponents have hacked their connection?
I have never lost my connection in several years of playing actively here. I have played more than 5,000 games.
20 years ago, when I still used dial-up, and used to play on Yahoo chess, I experienced the frustration of frequently getting disconnected and having to try to reconnect quickly before time ran out. I know what it's like.
It seems more likely to me that the people who are complaining have weak connections.
It also seems like it is something that chess.com can't fix. It is up to the users.

My connection was fine. The only problem is that I was thinking for like 1 minute few seconds in a 5 minutes game.

Told by me, among others. People with connection over 100 times the capacity to transmit chess data smoothly have suffered "disconnections".
I don't think opponents cheat with disconnection script, at least not in common, but I am pretty sure Live chess server system fails to cover the world equally. USA, Canada and west Europe may enjoy good connection, but people from other parts of the globe suffer with inconsistent one.
As far as I remember, the worst were prolonged Live Standard games. It seemed the Live chess server system lowered their connection priority when transmission of moves hadn't been frequent.
Connection clearly isn't only a function of your download/upload speeds but proximity to the server.
Saying 'Get a better connection' to a guy from Nepal using a US site you're basically telling him to move country.
I imagine a lot of problems people have are wifi based though. Most in general should have enough bandwidth these days, it's just consistency of connection.
It's not an easy problem for chess.com though.

I think you are right. Lag is more of a problem than local connection. Any message from Nepal, to use your example, has to be passed along through multiple connections on its way to chess.com's current servers (in California I am guessing) and then back around the world to wherever the opponent waits. If you've ever seen one of those traceroute tests, you know how byzantine the connections get. Even in the US, data was passed along close to 20 times and appears to make a sidetrip to Japan along the way. (Try http://www.monitis.com/traceroute/ if you are interested.)
Chess.com just needs to host a network of game servers spread around the world and every game would have to be handled by a server equidistant (by traceroute standards) from both players to spread the resulting minimized lag evenly around the world. All the "playing" servers could still report results to the main "logging" servers back in the US.
Google does it. According to this article, it is estimated that Google runs 900,000 servers around the world. I've never seen a report of what Chess.com has but I would guess that a few hundred new servers would be a good start at solving the problem. (Does anybody here on the forums know anything about chess.com's current architecture?)

I agree. Most of the time it's not the problem of someone's internet connection but chess.com server itself. Like it was mentioned, USA, Canada and few western europe countries enjoy privilege server in my humble opinion whereas the rest got the left overs haha.
@ notmtwain - You haven't understood the guy's issue.
That's always a possibility but it seems like there are people who post here every day who get disconnected and don't realize it until they have lost the game.
