OK. I apologize for the snarkiness. And the misplaced trolling accusation.
I understand what you are saying in your latest post. Related to all this is a lack of consistency and standardization across platforms as to which time controls count as Rapid vs. Classical, etc.
I agree that it is odd that chess.com does not even have Classical ratings. That is hard to understand.
A solution that I think would satisfy you and me both would be to add a Classical rating section, move the 60-minute game that is currently in Rapid, to Classical, freeing up a spot in Rapid to add a longer time control with an increment -- say, 30 | 10.
I think we could shake on that?
Sorry, again, for getting trolled when I wasn't being trolled.
No, because no one's asking for it.
But 60m + 10s SHOULD be added? Why?
Because no preconfigured Rapid time controls on chess.com past 15 minutes include an increment, though these are common elsewhere. It's a simple ask. I realize that the addition of a couple more buttons on the "more time controls" menu would negatively affect a life that is apparently so rich that there is nothing better to do than troll forums with questions such as "why not a .1-second increment," but maybe you could find a way to handle it. For instance, you could avoid clicking on the "more time controls" button to start with, and that way your eyes would never be burned by the sight of these additional, requested, offensive buttons. And maybe with the time this would save you, you could enter therapy and address your fear of change or maybe build a social life that would prevent the urge for internet trolling. The possibilities are endless.
First of all, I want a respectful conversation and trolling was not my intention.
Secondly, I am aware that 60 + 0.1 is nonsense, it was just an example
I think that Chess.com should add a Classical and Ultrabullet-time control with its own rating and its own section with time controls, so that each section still has 6(?) different main time controls - Including Classical and Ultrabullet. Therefore we WOULD get more options on the time-control menu.
If we would just add let’s say two more time controls for Rapid, there would be an unbalance compared to Blitz, Bullet and Daily, that still only have 6 options on their menu.
Right now it’s:
Bullet: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ]
Blitz: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ]
Rapid: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ]
Daily: [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ]
If Chess.com would add Classical and Ultrabullet, we would have 12 more options. Some of the options (Like 60 Minutes in Rapid are likely to move into the Classical-Section, making a new free place for a new Rapid time-control. And if you say: „But 60 Minutes isn’t classical!“, then I tell you: „2+1 isn’t Bullet either - Still, it’s in the Bullet section somehow.“.
Even if they only add only one of those time-controls (Which I think is unlikely), we would still have 6 more options. And with your suggestion, we would have more than 6 options.
Since it’s a hot topic, it might get added by chess.com. Therefore it doesn’t make sense to add new time controls since it would be hard to keep the 6-quick-options-per-time-control-balance. I don’t know if you care about this balance or if you support the Classical- and Ultrabullet time-control, but I do. And that’s my opinion. I hope it makes sense now.
