who is better magnus or hikaru or gukesh
With knight Gukesh is best , Hikaru is best but all the time Magnus is best as a player and as a teacher
Gukesh is the best and is only going to get better over the next 20 years, Hikaru is about second best for now tied with Fabiano and Ding probably. Magnus doesn't have the mindset of a champion anymore as he doesn't have the willpower to even compete, so he is probably 9th or 10th in the world now but has potential to improve since he still has the top elo high score. But the psychology is weak and fixed-minded, he mentioned on Joe Rogan he is inevitably declining with age (35), meanwhile Hikaru is peaking at 39. Magnus also loses self-control now and frequently hits the table making pieces fall over, accuses the opponent of cheating and starts drama with event staff; so essentially he is just a mascot now.
Blubaum is only 50 points lower than Gukesh, losing sounds normal. Blubaum winning isn't about Gukesh, its a reflection of his own growth qualifying for the candidates and establishing himself as a top player. Winning the candidates and then winning the world championship is a different feat to winning a game against someone 50 points higher. Gukesh is the world champion of the only format that actually demonstrates the utmost skill of the game. Magnus has strong chess sure, but too mentally weak to ever earn the title of world champion again, if he didn't qualify for candidates then he must be behind atleast 9 other people. I'm not trolling, its just a difference in opinion.
