A really tough challenge

So I got bored and decided to see how long it would take me to do this idea that popped into my head.  It ended up taking me 2-3 hours (with a few breaks).  Give it a try and let me know how long it takes you guys (I'd be curious to hear your ratings as well).

(Sorry for the diagrams, pretend the black king isn't there.  I can't seem to remove them.)

Setup:

  1. Clear the board
  2. Using just the white pieces, create a pawn chain from a5 to c7 back to h2 (see below)

The challenge: Place all the remaining white pieces within the pawn chain, so that all pieces on the board are protected by two other pieces.

Rules:

  1. The pawn chain in setup must not change.
  2. All pieces must be within the pawn chain.
  3. All pieces must be protected by, at minimum, two other pieces (pawns included)
  4. The path between a piece, and both of its "protectors" must have no other pieces in between (See Examples Below)

About 10 minutes. Interesting challenge, took a little longer than expected. (I solve and very occasionally compose problems, so that helps.)

Wow, that was very fast!  I see your overall rating (on here) is about 150-200 points higher than mine. Dealing with both the h2 pawn and the f4 pawn while not blocking the line of sight of other protectors was much harder for me to grasp.  I also had trouble protecting the white squared bishop, since most of the pieces are on the dark squares.

If I had to choose between your position, and mine, I'd definitely take yours, as my pieces are much more cramped.

This is mine below:
